CAMP BLISS AT PUSHKAR FAIR

Once a year during the Camel Fair the population of the small temple town of Pushkar increases from 21,500 to around 400,000, so finding the best accommodation can be a challenge.

Camp Bliss offers luxury tents in a peaceful gooseberry orchard, a short walk from the mela ground and away from the ‘tent cities’ which accommodate the majority of visitors.

Our Pushkar camp is small and exclusive and offers a high standard of accommodation with genuine hospitality.

Our own staff run Camp Bliss and their dedication to providing a warm welcome, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere make the camp a special experience much appreciated by our guests.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

Our aim is that Camp Bliss should be the best possible way to experience Pushkar Fair or the great regional mela of Nagaur Fair, and one of the highlights of your experience in India. To find out what our guests say, see the guest comments from our 2015 camps and previous years. See more >

REAL RAJASTHAN, AUTHENTIC CULTURES

Camp Bliss is unlike any other desert camp. Like the nomads of the Thar, it moves between remote desert villages and rural fairs, working with local people; camel herders and rose growers, farmers and villagers, weavers, bards, musicians and shepherds, people whose lives are intimately connected with the landscapes they inhabit, far from the tourist hotspots. There's no better way to experience a destination than with the people that know it best; unpredictability is part of the magic and impromptu concerts and celebrations have provided some of our most memorable Camp Bliss moments.

SPECIAL EVENTS AT CAMP BLISS

One of the features of Camp Bliss is our special events – light installations by visiting artists, yoga sessions, excursions to places in the locality, informal talks by historians, authors and photographers. We've enjoyed uproarious laughter yoga with friends from the Chowpatty Beach Laughter Yoga Club, Mumbai, discovered camel culture with Ilse Kohler-Rollefson, tracked tigers with photographer, author and forest officer Gobind Sagar Bhardwaj, met author and journalist Janaki Lenin's managerie and hosted performances by some of Rajasthan's most original and authentic folk performers. See details of some of our past events >

There's no fixed schedule but we look forward to bringing our guests more events in 2018.
